Cora
Burke, softballer and inspiration. Inspiration for the team's name actually.
We used to be called The Green Plague. It was Cora who pioneered the classic
flapping motion that most of our fielders use when the ball comes near them.
And with everyone flapping, it looked like we were trying to lift-off, hence
our current monicker. As the philosopher Sun Tzu said over 2,000 years ago:
"If birds are gathered there, the place has been vacated". Spot on, Sun.
Cora was lined up to play the Julie Andrews role in Disney's 1964 Academy Award
winning classic "Mary Poppins", until someone realised she wasn't born yet.
